Three men hurt in Chicago Heights shooting

(CHICAGO HEIGHTS) Three men were hurt in a shooting in south suburban Chicago Heights on Monday night.

Authorities responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Shields Avenue about 8:30 p.m., according to Chicago Heights police.

A 24-year-old man was shot twice in the head and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he remains in critical condition, police said.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg, and treated and released, police said. An 18-year-old man was struck in the head with shrapnel and was also treated and released.

Details of the shooting were not released, though no one was in custody as of Tuesday morning, police said.
