A man was seriously hurt in a shooting early Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of North Monitor at 1:37 a.m., police said.

The 20-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
