A 69-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Schererville, Ind. Monday afternoon.
Larry Welsch, of Hobart, suffered blunt force trauma in a crash at 36 E. U.S. Highway 30, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.
Welsch was following a family member on his way to the auto auction in Dyer when his car drifted into a left-turn-only lane and rolled over the center median, according to Schererville police. No one else was injured in the crash.
He was taken to Methodists Hospital in Gary, where he was pronounced dead at 3:03 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
