DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2015

In the morning, the President will host President Francois Hollande of France for a bilateral meeting in the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris of November 13. This visit will underscore the friendship and solidarity between the United States and France, our oldest ally. President Obama and President Hollande will consult and coordinate our efforts to assist France’s investigation into these attacks, discuss further cooperation as part of the 65-member counter-ISIL coalition, and reiterate our shared determination to confront the scourge of terrorism. The Vice President will also participate. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting in the Oval Office.

Later in the morning, the President will hold a joint press conference with President Francois Hollande of France. The Vice President will also attend. This press conference in the East Room is open press.

In the afternoon, the President will award seventeen recipients the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The First Lady will also attend. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. This event in the East Room is open press.
