A 67-year-old west suburban man reported missing Friday afternoon has been found safe in Wisconsin.

Thomas D. Schiavone was last seen by his caretaker leaving his Elmhurst home on foot about noon Friday, according to Elmhurst police. He has a learning disability and is unable to care for himself.

Police said Monday afternoon that Schiavone had been found safe and in good health in Kenosha after taking a train from Chicago on Friday, and a citizen reported he appeared to be confused or lost.

Wisconsin authorities performed a routine name check, which revealed he had been reported missing, police said.

Elmhurst detectives are going to Wisconsin to speak to Schiavone and bring him back home.
