A South Side man fatally struck by a CTA Red Line train early Tuesday in Chinatown committed suicide, authorities said.
James Patrick Dildane, 42, was hit at the Cermak-Chinatown station about 2:30 a.m., according to the CTA and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Dildane, of the 3400 lock of South Union, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy Wednesday ruled his death a suicide, authorities said.
Red Line trains were halted between Grand and 35th for two hours as crews cleared the scene.
