State child welfare officials are investigating the Saturday death of a 3-month-old boy on the Far South Side.

Aaron Kidd died at his home in the 300 block of West 118th Street at 4:01 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect against both of Aaron’s parents, agency spokesman Andrew Flach said. The agency has not had prior contact with the family.

An autopsy Sunday did not rule on Aaron’s cause and manner of death, with results pending further investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Area South detectives are investigating, but a Chicago Police spokeswoman said there seemed to be nothing suspicious about the death.
