A 19-year-old woman was killed in a crash in northwest Indiana on Wednesday morning.

Justice Marie Rutherford was driving a Ford Ranger in the 8600 block of East U.S. 20 about 9:49 a.m. when the truck hit the rear end of a semi truck, according to Gary police and the Lake County coroner’s office.

Rutherford, of the 6700 block of Baring Avenue in Hammond, Ind., was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake in Gary, where she was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m., the coroner’s office said.

An autopsy found she died of blunt force trauma.
