A 78-year-old man has died eight months after he was struck by a vehicle while walking in north suburban Deerfield.

Phillip Gold was hit by an SUV in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road in Deerfield in January, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office

Gold, of the 700 block of Willow Tree Lane in Glencoe, died at Evanston Hospital at 7:55 p.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of complications of blunt force injuries to the head, and his death was ruled an accident.
