Man dies after Hammond crash

A man died Wednesday night after a crash in northwest Indiana.

Robert Nawrocki, Jr., 48, was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the 4700 block of Grand Avenue in Hammond, Ind., according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

Nawrocki, who lived in the 7400 block of Grand Avenue in Hammond, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:40 p.m., according to the coroner’s office. He suffered blunt force trauma in the crash, and his death was ruled an accident.

Hammond police could not immediately provide further details.
