Woman dies after falling off boat in 59th Street Harbor

The 45-year-old slipped as she was climbing out of the boat about 12:10 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Harbor Drive, Chicago police said.

A woman died Wednesday after falling off a boat in 59th Street Harbor on the South Side.

The 45-year-old slipped as she was climbing out of the boat about 12:10 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Harbor Drive, Chicago police said.

Divers with the Chicago Fire Department pulled the woman out of the harbor but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
