Body pulled from Chicago River downtown

The Chicago Police Marine Unit recovered the body around 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the first block of West Wacker Drive near State Street, police said.

A body was recovered from the Chicago River in the Loop Thursday morning.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit pulled the body from the water around 9:30 a.m. in the first block of West Wacker Drive near State Street, police said.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were conducting a death investigation. No other details were released.
