A 42-year-old man was killed in an industrial accident Tuesday morning in west suburban Addison.

Matt Cienkus was dismantling equipment at a site at 100 S. Lombard Rd. when he fell, according to the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Cienkus, of the 3500 block of 192nd Street in Lansing, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:34 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Wednesday found he died of multiple injuries suffered from the fall, and his death was ruled an accident.

OSHA is investigating the two contractors at the site, Material Handling Systems Inc. and MHS Technical Services Inc.

Addison police could not immediately be reached for more details.
