A store was robbed at gunpoint Friday night in north suburban Waukegan.

The robbery happened at the Walmart at 3900 Fountain Square Pl. about 8 p.m., according to Waukegan police.

Store employees reported the suspect entered the Service Center area of the store, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from a cashier, according to police.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 black man with a thin build; wearing red pants, red shoes with white soles, plaid hoodie and red-and-white beanie with 49ers logo, police said. He was seen leaving in a burgundy hatchback.
