Bears Hall-of-Fame running back Gale Sayers led the NFL in rushing in 1966 and in 1969, but it was on this day in 1968 that Sayers rushed for a career-high 205 yards.

Sayers racked up the career-high on 24 carries in a 13-10 win at Green Bay.

Virgil Carter scored the only touchdown for the Bears – a two-yard run – and Mac Percival drilled a 43-yard field goal with 23 seconds remaining to give Chicago the win.

In a career that was just 68 games long, Sayers rushed for 4,956 yards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.
