A 16-year-old boy was shot in the knee by someone in a passing sport-utility vehicle as he walked home around 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 3500 block of West Roosevelt Road in Homan Square on the West Side, the police said.

The teenager was being treated at Stroger Hospital.
