Lanes of Lake South Drive south will begin to close Monday night before all lanes close early Tuesday morning for the Interstate 55/Lake Shore Drive interchange project.

Starting at 9 p.m., the left lane of southbound Lake Shore Drive will close, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. A second lane will close at 10 p.m.

All lanes of Lake Shore Drive south will close from midnight to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, IDOT said.

Drivers will be directed to take the outbound Stevenson (I-55), exit at State Street to enter the inbound Stevenson and re-enter southbound Lake Shore Drive, IDOT said. Detours will be posted.
