Police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station early Sunday in north suburban Libertyville.

At 1:11 a.m., the man walked into the Shell station near the intersection U.S. Highway 45 and Peterson Road with a gun, according to Libertyville police.

He took cash from the register and several cartons of Newport 100 cigarettes before running away, police said. No one was hurt.

The robber is described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old, with dark moles or freckles under his eyes.
