A southwest suburban man fatally shot himself after entering a Near West Side business and waving a gun while looking for his ex-girlfriend Thursday morning, according to Chicago Police.

Clint Engle, 40, entered the business just before 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Madison, waving a gun and asking for his ex-girlfriend, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Engle, who lived in the 15300 block of South Meadow Lane in Plainfield, left the business and shot himself in the alley, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at 2:53 p.m.
