(LIBERTYVILLE) A bridge that runs over the Des Plaines river in north suburban Libertyville will be reduced to one lane Oct. 8, as the Illinois Department of Transportation gears up to repair the structure.

IDOT announced that it will begin repairs to the bridge joints on Park Avenue (Illinois Route 176), and that they should be completed by Nov. 21, weather permitting, according to a statement from the agency.

Delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, IDOT said.
