Mother McAuley clips Lyons for sectional title

The first item on Mother McAuley’s to-do list for Thursday night’s Class 4A sectional title showdown with Lyons had nothing to do with strategy.

“Our goal was to start out the first five points with a lot of energy,” setter Jane DeJarld said. “We know that Lyons has a lot of energy, so we wanted to match that, top that.”

The Mighty Macs scored the first six points and nine of the first 11.
