Oh boy, this sure sounds like fun.

Techno Yoga is coming to Chicago. It’s a combination of yoga and dance and will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.

This isn’t that super-quiet, almost silent version of yoga that you usually partake in, according to Rooted Self Expression, which is hosting the event at its studio, 2221 W. North Ave.

It’s music and a “movement journey” (AKA dance) set to techno music provided by The Void, a Madison-based DJ. (Now that’s something you for sure don’t usually hear in yoga class. I’m liking yoga more and more now!)

It will include solo, partnered and free-styled movement, all leading up to a yoga/dance party. There will be 30-minute guided sessions throughout the evening, so you can come in at any time and be part of the action.

Yoga mats will be provided, and it’s OK if you are a newbie. You must be 18 or older, though.

Tickets are $30; buy one here.
