The Cubs and WLS-Ch.7 announced a deal Friday to air 25 games on the local ABC affiliate every season from 2015-19.

The Cubs have been working toward finding TV partners after opting out of their contract with WGN-Ch. 9 last year. The decision left the team with 70 games that needed a TV home.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago owns the rights to the rest of the Cubs TV schedule.

“We are excited to have WLS-TV as our new television broadcast partner,” Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenney said in a statement. “WLS-TV has established itself as a trusted voice in Chicago, and we look forward to a new chapter of Cubs baseball airing on the flagship station of the ABC television network.”

Kenney also said in the release that the Cubs will soon announce a partner for the remaining 45 games on the schedule.
