(HINSDALE) A teenage girl is in critical condition after she was struck by a Metra train Saturday night in west suburban Hinsdale.

The 17-year-old girl was struck at the Garfield Street crossing by inbound BNSF train No. 1320 at 7:03 p.m., according to Metra and a statement from Hinsdale police.

She was immediately taken to Hinsdale Hospital, then was transferred to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she remains in critical condition, police said.

Hinsdale police are investigating.
