Three people were shot — including a 15-year-old boy — in a pair of drive-by attacks Sunday morning in the South Deering neighborhood.

About 10:15 a.m., a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were inside a vehicle traveling in the 9500 block of South Jeffery when a white SUV pulled up next to them and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The 17-year-old was shot in the wrist and thigh. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition. The 18-year-old was shot in the back and was taken to the same hospital in serious condition, police said.

The suspects drove away and turned east on 96th Street when they then opened fire and struck a 15-year-old boy in the 2000 block of East 96th Street, police said. The boy was shot in the back, chest and taken to Christ Medical Center in serious condition.
