South Elgin almost made it look too easy for a quarter and change Thursday.

It was anything but by the end.

The host Storm lost point guard Nadia Yang to a bone bruise, then had to hold off a furious Metea Valley rally from 18 points down to come out with a 68-59 Upstate Eight Valley win.
