(BLOOMINGTON) A man riding a bicycle was killed after he was struck by a vehicle last month in downstate Bloomington.

Willie Lofton, 51, was riding a bike on Nov. 28 near the intersection of Monroe and Oak in Bloomington when he was struck by the vehicle, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lofton, of the 300 block of Mulberry Street in Bloomington, was taken to Kindred Hospital Chicago in Northlake where he was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Saturday found Lofton died of multiple injuries he suffered when he was struck by the vehicle and his death was ruled an accident.

Bloomington police could not immediately provide additional details on the crash.
