MUNDELEIN – After Cary-Grove missed its first 10 shots against Libertyville, girls basketball coach Rod Saffert directed his players from the home team’s bench: “Ladies, we’re not taking shots in our comfort zone.”

Saffert continued to relay the message at halftime when he wrote “Poor” on the locker room dry-erase board in regard to his team’s shot selection.
