Missing elderly man with Alzheimer’s found safe

An elderly man with Alzheimer’s who was reported missing after he left his Logan Square home Sunday afternoon has been found safe.

Nelson Serrano, 81, was last seen about 3 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of North Mozart, when he may have been heading to the Tony’s Finer Foods store at 3607 W. Fullerton, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and is diabetic.

Police said Tuesday morning that Serrano had been located safely.
