The SouthWest Suburban Conference meet is still up in the air.
There was some confusion as to when it would be taking place as some schedules had it for Tuesday at Lincoln-Way East and some had on Saturday.
Lincoln-Way co-op coach Kim Lago said that the meet was originally scheduled for Tuesday.
But…
Due to the cold weather, District 210 canceled classes and activities for both Monday and Tuesday and as of Sunday night, Lago said she wasn’t sure if the meet would take place Wednesday or later in the week.
Lincoln-Way is seeking its fifth straight championship. Since the league started in 2005-06, Lincoln-Way has won five titles and Sandburg claimed three. Lincoln-Way’s Kaila Pohrte was the individual champion as a junior in 2013 but a season-ending knee injury opens the door for a new champion.
Lockport’s Kacie Kenney, Sandburg’s Anna Girlich and Lincoln-Way’s Shelby Wiktor, Mallory Winter and Maggie Schultz figure to be top contenders for the individual crown.
