Former Hawk Matt Perez Hurt

Although 2010 Maine South graduate Matt Perez likely is a redshirt candidate this season for Indiana, the Hoosier Scoop reports the running back and last season’s Sun-Times and Pioneer Press’ North Stars Player of the Year injured his knee at practice Tuesday.

Trainers carried Perez off the field. No word yet on the injury. Indiana opened the season with a 51-17 win over Towson.
