Officials at the Proviso West Holiday tournament released the pairings Monday night for the mammoth 32-team, seven-day spectacular. First-round games are being held on three different days this year with the entire bottom half of the bracket being held Dec. 26.

The most intriguing matchup in my notebook is St. Joseph (5-0) vs. Nazareth (5-1) at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23. St. Joseph is a perennial powerhouse at Proviso West while Nazareth is in its second year of the tournament after leaving the now-defunct Hinsdale South tournament. The Roadrunners lost and gained players due to transfers, but have proven to be competitive in the early going.

Here is the link to the complete bracket.

The tournament’s website also features a countdown clock on its home page. This is the clock as it appears during the posting of this blog entry. Check out the website to get a video and other cool info about the Proviso West tournament.
