THESKINNY:Hampshireheld on for a 35-34 victory over DeKalb (1-1)Fridaynight in Hampshire.The Whip-Purs got off to a quick start scoring on their first two possessions and outgaining the Barbs 147 to 1 in the first quarter.

TURNINGPOINT:After DeKalb got to within two points late in the third quarter, Hampshire (2-0) answered with a 15-play, 75-yard drive that took7:32off the clock. Quarterback Nick Mohlman capped the drive off with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tim Jansen.

THESTAR:Hampshire senior running back Nick Kielbasa rushed for 177 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns .
