Dunks are done

Fans of the slam will have one less reason to go to the IHSA boys basketball state finals next March.

The IHSA board of directors at its June meeting approved a recommendation by the Boys Basketball Advisory Committee to drop the slam dunk competition “due to low participation numbers.”

So congrats again to Charleston’s Joey Miller, who apparently will go down in history as the IHSA’s last King of the Hill all-class champion dunker.
