Robert Duvall and Robert Downey Jr. star as father and son in “The Judge.” Downey will be in Chicago on Sunday to promote the film.

Already there’s a lot of Oscar buzz for director David Dobkin’s new film “The Judge” (opening Oct. 10) — especially for the title character played by Robert Duvall, and Robert Downey Jr. as his estranged son who ends up representing his father in a murder case.

So, there’s bound to be excitement at the AMC River East on East Illinois Street on Sunday night, when Downey and Dobkin walk the red carpet at a special pre-festival gala screening for “The Judge” on the verge of the opening of the 50th anniversary season of the Chicago International Film Festival this coming week.

Please note: Tickets to the actual screening already have been distributed to special guests, but fans will likely be able to grab a glimpse or a photo of Downey as he arrives at the multiplex complex on Sunday night.
