Man shot multiple times in Austin

A man was shot in the face Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was in the 5000 block of West Fulton at 7:30 p.m. when someone fired shots from a passing dark sedan, police said.

The man was being treated for a gunshot wound to the left side of his face and multiple wounds to the abdomen at Stroger Hospital, police said. He was listed in serious condition.

A source said the man is a documented gang member.
