A person was critically wounded in a shooting Sunday morning in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened in the 4100 block of West 31st Street at 8:35 a.m., Chicago Police said, citing preliminary information.

A male was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. Additional details were not immediately available.
