For the third-consecutive week, Illinois starting running back Josh Ferguson will be sidelined by a shoulder injury suffered on Oct. 3, according to CSN.
Ferguson, who’s averaging 5.4 yard per carry this season, hasn’t played since suffering the injury in the team’s win over Nebraska.
Illinois (4-3, 1-2 Big Ten) is 0-2 in his absence, and has averaged fewer than 56 yards on the ground in the pair of losses.
The void leaves freshman Ke’Shawn Vaughn as the team’s starter in the backfield. Vaughn is Illinois’ leading rusher with 447 yards and four touchdowns on 108 carries.
