Two men were shot Tuesday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The men, ages 31 and 44, were standing outside in the 5200 block of South Peoria at 6:48 p.m. when someone in a vehicle nearby opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

Both men were shot in the leg, police said. The 44-year-old was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, while the younger man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

A police source said the shooting may have been gang-related.
