Northbound Red Line trains resuming normal service

Northbound CTA Red Line trains have resumed normal service after temporarily rerouting to the northbound tracks when a customer got their foot stuck at a Loop station Wednesday morning.

A passenger’s foot became stuck between a train and the platform at the Monroe station at 26 S. State St. at 8:15 a.m., according to the CTA and Fire Media Affairs.

The person was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Fire Media. Their gender and age were not immediately available.

Northbound subway trains were temporarily rerouted to the elevated lines between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton, according to the CTA.

Trains have resumed normal routing, but some trains may run express and skip stops to restore spacing and even loads, according to the CTA.
