First it was Renee Zellweger whose new look prompted a rash of stories implying she had gone under elective surgery to change her appearance.

Now it’s Uma Thurman getting the “What’s happened to her face?” headlines — awash all over the Internet and social media.

The actress attempted to put the kibosh on the rumors on the “Today” show Thursday morning, making an appearance to promote her NBC mini-series “The Slap.”

When the morning show’s co-anchor Savannah Guthrie asked Thurman about the flurry of interest in her looks, the actress seemed pretty amused by all the chatter.

“I don’t know. I guess nobody liked my makeup,” adding that she understands mean comments are part of the price paid for being in the public eye.
