A 23-year-old man was shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood late Wednesday.

He was sitting in a parked car just before midnight in the 700 block of South Kostner when someone walked up and shot him in the leg, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

A relative drove the man to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Greer said.
