Two men arrested after search of Will County home

Two southwest suburban men are facing charges related to drugs and child pornography after authorities searched their home Tuesday morning.

The arrests followed a two-month investigation into the downloading and distribution of child pornography, according to a statement from the Will County state’s attorney’s office.

Sheriff’s police seized computers and other electronic devices from the home in the 800 block of South Briggs Street in Joliet Township, the state’s attorney’s office said.

A 32-year-old man who lives at the home was taken into custody pending formal charges of child pornography, the state’s attorney’s office said.

During the search, authorities also found 320 grams of marijuana, which they also seized, the state’s attorney’s office said. Another resident, a 22-year-old man, is in custody on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to deliver.

They are expected to be formally charged and appear for a bond hearing Wednesday at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet.

Will County Sheriff’s police and the state’s attorney’s High Technology Crimes Unit jointly investigated the case.
