SEEN ON THE SCENE: Samuel L. Jackson, in town filming Spike Lee’s “Chiraq,” was spotted dining at Gibsons Rush Street steakery Monday night, while director Lee himself was seen next door at Hugo’s Frog Bar. … Speaking of the “Chiraq” team, veejay-turned actress LaLa Anthony was surprised by friends and fellow castmates with a birthday bash Monday at Lucky Strike in Streeterville. The group included the film’s John Cusack and Nick Cannon and about 30 other friends and “Chiraq” cast and crew members. … Whitney Reynolds, star of her self-titled show on PBS, was spied checking out the scene at Quartino the other night. … Rolling Stone legends Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood slipped into Momotaro, the Boka Restaurant Group’s hot new Japanese eatery in the West Loop — even signing the Chicago magazine “Best New Restaurant” issue (which features Momotaro on the cover) before they left. … While in town to promote his upcoming “Trainwreck” film, Judd Apatow joined pals for dinner at David Burke’s Primehouse, where (separately) Jennifer Hudson was seen toasting fiance David Otunga on Fathers Day. … U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. had music fans a-flutter when he showed up at Siena Tavern with his wife and kids. … The pre-Broadway opening here of “On Your Feet!” had special significance for Marianne Murciano, a longtime friend of Gloria Estefan — who’s the focus of the show along with her husband Emilio. So it’s not surprising that Murciano and husband Bob Sirott are hosting a half-hour special at 8:30 p.m. Friday on WTTW-Channel 11, “Sirott and Murciano Backstage with Gloria and Emilio Estefan.” On the show, Gloria admits her husband is much better than she is at picking hits. “He’s got an amazing commercial ear. … Usually my favorite songs are not the hit singles. They are more obscure.”
