A 17-year-old boy was shot while playing with a gun in the South Side Marquette Park neighborhood Tuesday night.

The teen and a friend were playing with a gun about 11:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Campbell when it discharged, striking the teen in the pinkie finger, police said. Officers had not located the friend as of Wednesday morning.

He was treated and released from Holy Cross Hospital. No charges were being filed as of Wednesday morning, police said.
