A man is robbing small retail stores and restaurants at gunpoint in the Logan Square and West Town neighborhoods, police said.

In a June 23 robbery, the man entered a store about 5:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Milwaukee and pulled out a black or blue-steel pistol from his backpack and proceeded with a robbery, police said. The man then ran away to a CTA Blue Line station at Division and Milwaukee.

The same person is suspected of robbing a business about 10:20 p.m. on June 9 in the 2400 block of West Fullerton and another about 2 p.m. on June 24 in the 2800 block of West Armitage.

Police said the suspect is a black man, about 20-years-old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, about 160-pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, dark baseball hat, blue jeans, gym shoes with different colored laces and was carrying a dark-colored backpack.
