A man was shot early Sunday during a robbery in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

About 4:55 a.m., two people exited a white sedan, approached the 24-year-old man and announced a robbery in the 5300 block of South Wabash, police said.

While the people were robbing him, the man was shot in upper right leg, police said. The robbers then got back in the vehicle, which sped away.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
