The Northwestern Wildcats kept their 2015 record unblemished with a 19-10 victory over the Duke Blue Devils Saturday in Evanston, Ill.

NU’s running back Warren Long was clutch in the win with a 55-yard touchdown run and a game-changing fumble recovery on a Duke muffed punt.

Even though Wildcats freshman Clayton Thorson had the worst game of his young career (70 passing yards, two interceptions), the NU rushing attack helped salt away the clock and cement the win.

Northwestern running back Justin Jackson notched 120 rushing yards on 35 attempts and NU accumulated over 200 running yards for the day.

The Blue Devils finished with 327 total yards to 271 for Northwestern, but had just 152 in the second half.

The teams combined for 11 straight punts in the defensive battle and Duke failed to score a point in the second and third quarters.

The Wildcats battle the Ball State Cardinals next Saturday at home.
