A man walked into a hospital after being shot Wednesday morning in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The 27-year-old told investigators he was shot in the 11800 block of South Harvard about 11:30 a.m., police said.
He walked into Roseland Hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower back, and was listed in serious condition, police said.
Elissa Tenny, the first female president in the school’s 157-year history, said she is retiring next year.
Mr. Gardner also donated tens of thousands of dollars to causes that sought to end gun violence and helped create the nonprofit Black On Black Love.
