One person was critically injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon in north suburban Antioch.

A 2000 Ford F-150 pickup was headed westbound on North Avenue at Burning Bush Lane at 12:40 p.m. when it came to a curve in the road, the Lake County sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The 24-year-old driver “failed to negotiate” the curve and the Ford went off the north side of the roadway, hitting a utility pole and tree before coming to a stop, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition, the sheriff’s office said. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
